This is so easy, even a two year old can do it!!!

Here is my 2 year old, Jonah, helping!

Here is my dirty finger pointing to the lift pump.  I was confused as to where I should tap in to the fuel
system.  I had a scotch, and then started cutting.

Here is my JB welded Banjo bolt.  I ended up ordering a solid bolt, but was too impatient to
wait for it.  I was happy with the quality of the JB weld, and have had no problems .... so far

Here is the diesel filter with the JB welded Banjo bolt installed

Here is my left index finger.

I guess I really liked this JB welded Banjo bolt.  Why do I have so many pics of it?

I had to add this stupid bit of plumbing to the cooling system to get adequate clearance for the parts
Please not the thermostatic switch that still does not work :(

Some work is coming along.  I added another piece of Aluminum for the mounting of the valves

This is a pic of me experimenting with home heating oil.  Note the cranberry color.  This is dyed red
to distinguish non-road tax fuel from diesel that has been taxed.   I wanted to know first hand, that
I can, at least in theory,  run home heating oil in my diesel.  Yes I can.

This test also taught me the surprising volume of fuel that is pumped to the IP.  This jelly jar was
emptied by the idling engine in a matter of couple of seconds!  Wow.  This means that the engine really
consumes only a fraction of the fuel the pump takes.  The return line returns a huge amount of fuel
to the tank every minute.  This means that the entire fuel system, both Diesel and WVO, is circulated
past the filters and heat exchangers MANY times an hour.  What an over worked fuel system this is!

My heater hose monstrosity

Doing a valve job!

Tilt your head to see heating oil being tested

Did you know the MB can open its hood extra wide if you release the safety latch.  Good idea Hans!!
